Public transit recommended by many
Upplands Lokaltrafik (UL) has compiled the results of the 2007 Public Transit Survey. The results are largely the same as those from 2006. Responses to the question "In summary, how satisfied are you with Regiontrafiken/Stadstrafiken in Uppsala", reveal a 1 percent drop for Regiontrafiken and a 2 percent drop for Stadstrafiken among customers.
The survey also shows that over 70 percent (75 percent for Regiontrafiken and 71 percent for Stadstrafiken) of customers would recommend traveling within the county by public transit to their friends.
For both Regiontrafiken and Stadstrafiken in Uppsala, the results for the total customer satisfaction index indicate that 66 percent of customers are satisfied with the Regiontrafiken (grade 4 or 5) and for Stadstrafiken, the corresponding figure is 62 percent.
-"We note that 2007 earnings are on the same level as in 2006 and that Regiontrafiken is just above the national average, while Stadstrafiken in Uppsala comes up just under the national average, "said Klas Wåhlberg, CEO of UL.
The proportion of dissatisfied customers, i.e. those giving a score of 1 or 2, amounts to 5 percent for Regiontrafiken and 6 percent for Stadstrafiken in Uppsala.
"Of course UL is concerned that customers are satisfied, meaning that they give us a score 4 or 5 on the five-point rating scale, but equally important to us as that few are dissatisfied, meaning that they gives us scores of 1 and 2, says Klas Wåhlberg .
"A few events during 2007 caused us to fear that we would receive worse results than are now apparent. I am referring in particular to the tragic accident in late February and the problems related to the construction of Uppsala Resecentrum, not least on Kungsgatan. Finding the right bus stop in the first place is not an easy task when the bus terminal resembles a construction site, and our travel hosts put forth a good effort to guide travelers in the right direction.
"We will use the results of the survey as we work to improve the areas which receive lower scores, and which studies reveal are of great importance to our customers, "said Klas Wåhlberg. The 30-point program we presented in our advertisements in late 2007 reflect a number of points that were taken more or less directly from the Public Transit Survey.
The survey, a quality and attitude survey, was conducted via telephone interviews among a statistical sample of county residents aged 15-75 years, both from the public (passengers and non-passengers) and UL customers (passengers).
