New timetables for public transit in Uppsala county.
On August 20, new timetables will take effect for public transport in Uppsala county. Major changes are underway in central Uppsala with regard to route maps and stops as Stadstrafiken moves from Dragarbrunnsgatan to Kungsgatan and Resecentrum. Regiontrafiken will also be getting new stops at Resecentrum.
The new timetables for public transport in Uppsala county will take effect on Monday, i.e. for UL regional buses, Stadstrafiken in Uppsala and Upptåget. The timetable will be valid until January 5, 2008 for Regiontrafiken and Upptåget, and until June 14, 2008 for Stadstrafiken in Uppsala.
Bus services in Uppsala
Bus terminal construction at Resecentrum in Uppsala is entering the final phase. This means reduced distance between stops on many Regiontrafiken and Stadstrafiken routes, which in turn means easier transfers between the different buses. Even switching between Stadstrafiken and trains will become easier, as many city buses will have stops at Resecentrum.
New stops will be added for Regiontrafiken and Stadstrafiken along Stadshusgatan, which runs one-way south of the bus. Another new development is that the bus stops along Kungsgatan will be served by both regional and city buses.
Stadstrafiken bus routes that serve Dragarbrunnsgatan will be moved to Kungsgatan, and a few routes will be rerouted to a certain extent. Examples are routes 14 and 18, which serve Vaksalagatan-Väderkvarnsgatan-Strandbokilen to and from the Boländerna industrial region and Fyrislund. Effective September 3, these routes will serve the new Stationsgatan instead of Väderkvarnsgatan.

Because some construction is still in progress along Kungsgatan, accessibility may be limited at certain times and road signs will encourage car drivers to avoid Kungsgatan.
Other bus services in the county
Among the new developments for Regiontrafiken bus routes in the county are the new express bus routes which will be added to serve Uppsala-Västerås and Enköping-Bålsta-Kista. The express bus introduced last year between Östhammar and Uppsala will receive two new services in each direction, for a total of three trips in the morning from Östhammar and three trips in the afternoon from Uppsala.

Upptåget
The new timetable means that Upptåget will return to the same frequency as before the summer, with half-hourly service between Uppsala and Upplands Väsby, via Arlanda, from 4:43 to 0:13.
New departures will be added from Tierp at 04:04, from Gävle at 23:00 and from Upplands Väsby at 00:49.
Travel on the route Uppsala-Gävle has been simplified in that the time limitations previously in effect for UL and X-Trafik county cards have been abolished.
