Success for Upptåget family ticket to Furuvik.

Over 1000 families have used Upptåget to travel to and from Furuvik so far this summer. This was revealed by sales statistics for the combination ticket offered by UL and Furuvik. On some days, there were so many passengers that buses were needed in order to transport everyone who wanted to go.

By Friday, July 27, more than 1000 families had purchased the combination ticket for Upptåget and Furuviksparken. The sales statistics complied by UL include tickets sold on board Upptåget and at Upplysningen in Uppsala and Tierp. Data from sales at other points of sale will not be reported until late August, at which time the complete results of this year's ticket cooperation will become available.

"The number of passengers using the family ticket clearly surpassed our expectations, and on certain days we had so many passengers than we had to add buses because there was not room for everyone on the train," said UL CCO Sture Jonsson.

Buses are now at the ready in Uppsala in the mornings for those who traveling to Furuvik, and at the station in Furuvik for the trip home in the afternoon.

Sales of family tickets for travel to and from Furuvik started on June 17. A family ticket costs SEK 150 and is valid for two adults and three children under 16. In addition to travel on Upptåget to Furuvik and back, the ticket also includes Furuvikparken wristbands for the whole family.
