Exceptions on certain routes
On route 677, advance UL single tickets and SMS tickets are valid for local travel within UL's County zone, but not for travel across the county line.
Age Limits
0-6 years free of charge; however, no more than 2 children may travel free when accompanied with an adult or parent paying with a youth card or school travel card).
7-19 year: child/youth ticket.
20 and over: adult ticket.
Youth Cards for children and young people up to age 19.
65 years+ Senior Card
Summer Vacation Cards for young people up to 18 years.
You must be able to prove your age for the driver with an ID card or similar document if you look especially young.
(Tip: Keep a copy of your passport in your wallet).
If you are traveling with the youth card, summer vacation card, annual pass or senior card
If you are traveling with a child's ticket or have a non-transferable card (youth card, summer vacation card, annual pass or senior card), you must be able to show evidence of your age upon request and prove that the card is yours.
Therefore you must always be able to present official photo identification in order for your card to be valid. If you do not have identification during a check, the card will be considered as misused and a fee of SEK 1200 may be charged.
Transfers/return trip single ticket
Ticketholders may transfer freely among UL routes for a 90-minute period. Present your ticket when boarding. If your trip continues in the same zone as the one in which the transfer takes place, there is no extra cost. However, 90-minute transfer and round-trip privileges do not apply for travel to/from Arlanda on the Upptåget train. If you change to the city buses in Gävle and Västerås, you will receive a transfer discount for a 90 minute period.
SMS tickets valid in Zone 1 are also valid for travel on Uppsala city buses.
Transfer trips with a card
When changing to another UL route within 90 minutes, no new trip will be deducted from the card. It is important that you insert your card into the card reader on the bus/train at each leg of your journey, no matter which type of card you are using.
UL cards on city buses of Uppsala
Temporary cards or 30- and 15-day cards and season tickets (including the Senior Card) are also valid on city bus routes in Uppsala. (10-trip cards and youth cards do not apply for travel/transfer on city buses.) However, the expiry date must stamped on the card. This takes place when you use the card at least once on a UL bus or on Upptåget. Present the card to the bus driver when boarding a city bus.
UL cards on SJ trains
UL's County cards, 15 - and 30-day cards and annual passes are valid for travel on SJ trains on the route Tierp-Uppsala. If the card does not have an expiry date, it must be stamped in the card reader at the station. Single tickets can be purchased in the UL Center at the for Travel Center in Uppsala or on board the train before travel from Uppsala or Tierp. Please note! UL/SL-cards are not valid for travel on SJ trains.
TiM
TiM, Transport in Mälardalen, is a collaboration between UL, SJ and county transport companies in Mälardalen. For travel in this area, tickets and temporary cards for combination trips area available. UL + SJ trains, UL + SJ train + county transit, in some cases urban transit. Station locations for transfer between UL transit and SJ are Bålsta, Enköping, Knivsta and Uppsala.
However, it is not possible to buy a ticket for combined SJ and UL transit from a TiM machine (eg. Örebro-Uppsala)
TiM temporary card
Like the UL temporary card, TiM cards are available for Zone 1 and Zone 2 with UL transit. The TiM card is valid for 30 days, is non-transferable and valid for unlimited travel during this period. Cards for Zone 1 and County are valid for UL transit in their respective zones and also on the city buses of Uppsala. See also www.timinfo.se
Group Discount
Groups of at least 10 people can receive discounts. The discount depends on the time and the route of the trip. Call the UL transit office at 018-65 99 20 for information and to order tickets.
Refunds
UL will redeem unused cards against a cancellation fee of SEK 75. Cards or tickets that have been partially used will not be refunded.

Children and strollers
Children under 7 travel free when accompanied by an adult or a parent. Children under 7 years of age should not travel alone. A stroller may be brought along at no charge if space is available.
Dog
Two dogs travel free. Passengers traveling with more than 2 dogs must pay a child's fare for the additional dogs.
Sleds/snowracers
Sleds and snowracers may be brought along but must be placed in the trunk of the regional bus.
Bicycle
During the period from April to October, passengers may bring along a bicycle for trips with regional buses and Upptåget. Space permitting, you may bring along a bicycle on a UL bus for SEK 40 (exceptions are route 801, routes which are trafficked on call or express buses such as 839, 858, 870, 873, 874, 875, 878, 880, 887 and 896. SL regulations apply on route 677). The bus can take up to two bicycles per trip.
Upptåget has room for up to two bicycles, Monday-Friday 9:00 to 15:00, and after 18:00 and Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for the bicycle can be purchased from the bus driver or train attendant. Price. 40 SEK. No bikes are allowed on night transit services or to/from Arlanda.
Luggage
You can always bring along as much luggage as you can carry yourself without disturbing others. This also applies to folding smaller bikes, such as a micro bike which is kept in a bag. Those traveling with a backpack are encouraged to hold it in their hand to save space at times when many passengers are on board.
Ice cream and hot dogs
Eating ice cream and hot dogs is not permitted on buses and trains in the UL transit network.
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol is not permitted on board buses and trains in the UL transit network. For everyone's comfort and for the safety of yourself and others, you may be refused entry to the bus or train or asked to leave if you are visibly intoxicated.
Insert the card into the card reader
When you board a bus in the UL transit network, you must always insert your card into the card reader.
no matter what type of card you have. On Upptåget, only school travel cards, youth cards, and 10- and 20-trip cards need to be inserted into the card reader.
Youth Ticket
If you are between the ages of 7 and 19, be aware that you must be able to provide evidence of your age. This also applies to those who have a youth card.
Roller skates, skateboards, etc.
For your safety and the sake of your fellow travelers, do not wear any type of roller skates aboard buses and trains in the UL transit network. Kickboards and other types of scooters can only travel when collapsed/folded.
Ticket inspection
Special inspectors perform regular ticket checks on buses and trains. Ticket misuse is a criminal offense and we have the right to revoke misused tickets and cards, such as youth cards used by passengers who are aged 20 and above or senior cards used by passengers under the age of 65. If you do not have a valid ticket at the time of ticket inspection, you will be charged an inspection fee of SEK 1200 and you must pay for a ticket for your intended journey.

Transferring between bus routes
If you need to switch between different routes, keep the following in mind:
At the Uppsala Travel Center (Resecentrum), there will be at least a 5-minute window scheduled
between regional bus arrivals and departures.
At other stops - if the same time is specified in the schedule for the arrival and departing bus.
Transferring between bus and train
When transferring between bus and train, there should be a window of at least 5 minutes in Enköping, Bålsta (for urban routes 301-305, see the relevant timetable) and Skutskär (Upptåget and bus route 501).
n Uppsala, the margin between arriving/departing buses and trains must be at least 10 minutes.
In case of delay, it is usually not possible to wait for late buses or trains. Talk to the bus driver or train attendant so they can try to help you.
Service disruption information
In the vent of urgent service disruptions, UL will announce information to the traffic room at P4 Radio Uppland. Traffic information is usually broadcast Monday - Friday from 6:00 to 18:00 in connection with news bulletins.

Travel Guarantee
The UL Travel Guarantee applies in the event of a delay.

UL is not liable for delays or cancellations due to industrial disputes, extreme weather conditions or other causes such as accidents or obstacles on roads or tracks outside of UL's control.
Transit network changes
Changes in the transit network which are not shown in the schedule will be announced this here on the website and if possible, in the local daily newspapers. Service disruptions will also be announced via the Radio Uppland traffic service.
Upptåget
Card readers are available at each entrance. Single tickets are sold by the train attendant on board Upptåget. Additional information about Upptåget can be found in the Upptåget timetable and here on the Web site.
UL prices and tickets for Upptåget
If you are traveling to Upplands Väsby you will need an SL ticket, single ticket or card, regardless of whether Upplands Väsby is the final destination or whether you will transfer to the SL commuter train or bus.
The SJ Silver and Gold Annual Pass is valid on Upptåget, but only on the Uppsala - Tierp route and vice versa.
Bank card
You can pay the train attendant for your trip using any card except an Electron card, such as Maestro. To pay for your trip on Upptåget by debit/credit card, you will need to show ID. The option to pay by debit/credit card will be introduced on regional buses in February 2011.
Single ticket
You can buy single tickets at the regular price from Upptåget train attendants. (However, this does not apply in combination with a SL ticket, see the special price list). If the trip goes to Upplands Väsby, the SL ticket is included in the ticket purchased from the train attendant. As of December 12, 2010, payment in cash is not possible on board regional buses.
Crossing fee at Arlanda
For travel to and from Arlanda, a separate fee must be paid to cross the barrier at the entrance to Sky City. If you purchase your single ticket to Arlanda aboard Upptåget, the barrier fee is included in the ticket price. If you are traveling to the airport on one single occasion and have a temporary card (without Arlanda supplement), a 10-trip card, Youth Card or Senior Card, redeem the crossing ticket in the machine located at the barrier.
Adults 20 years and older: 60 SEK
Children/Youth: 40 SEK
Commuters are encouraged to purchase a temporary card with an Arlanda supplement.
Upptåget stops further down the platform at some stations
So that travelers always know where the train will stop regardless of whether it is a short or a long train, Upptåget will stop at the stations further down the platform in the direction of travel. This means that the front of the train will always stops at the same place as it would if it were a long (double coupled) train.
