General information on school trips with UL
In order to provide bus services for non-student passengers as well,
most of our school trips take place on regular scheduled services. Many bus routes
drive on smaller roads which are sometimes inaccessible,
especially in the winter. When the roads are slippery, and the risk of accidents is too great,
some trips may be canceled. UL will announce such instances
both to the school in question and to the traffic room at Radio Uppland, which
provides information about the traffic situation every morning and afternoon.
For a safe and pleasant journey
In order to make sure no one gets hurt and to ensure that the bus/train
stays on schedule, we have a few simple rules to keep in mind. This
will help make for a a safer and more pleasant journey for everyone.
At the bus stop
• Arrive in good time.
• Stand still until the bus/train has stopped.
• Do not jump in the line.
• Have your school travel card ready before boarding.
On the bus/train
• Sit down in a seat.
• Do not vandalize the interior.
• Remain in your seat until the has bus stopped.
When getting off
• Do not push or shove.
• If you need to cross the street, wait until the bus has driven away
to make sure that you can be seen and that you can see.
Take care of your School Travel card!
Moisture and magnetic objects (such as
mobile phones, CD players, magnetic locks on purses or wallets) will damage the magnetic strip.
The card must be kept in the plastic pouch you received with your card.
If the card is damaged due to negligence, the school will charge
for a replacement card.
Stolen or lost cards
If you lose your school travel card, immediately consult the person responsible for school travel cards
at your school. You will have to pay a service fee to receive
your replacement card and your old card will be blocked. If your old card turns up, submit
it to the person responsible for School Travel cards at your school.
Card error
If the school travel card does not work in the card reader, the bus driver or
inspector will write today's date on your card. You will then have three school days
to get a new one. In the meantime, you can present your
old card, but after three school days it will no longer be valid, and you will have to
pay for the trip yourself.
If you leave school during the school year
If you leave during the academic year you must return your
School Travel card to the school no later than your last day of attendance. Otherwise, your school will
charge a fee.
Forgot your card
Elementary school students are entitled to ride to school even if
they accidentally forget their bus card at home. A ticket is required for the trip home,
otherwise the student must pay.
High school students who have forgotten their school travel card at home must
pay the entire trip.
Always wear reflective gear when in the dark!
