Single ticket
Effective December 12, 2010, it is no longer possible to purchase single tickets in cash on board Uppsala city buses and regional buses. This means that customers will need to obtain a ticket before boarding the bus. Beginning in the spring of 2011, passengers can purchase a single ticket with a debit card.
Use the Trip Planner on the start page to find the fare for a particular trip. Single tickets are available for travel within one zone and between two and three zones. Single tickets are available for adults aged 20 and up and children/youth 7-19 years of age. Children under 7 years of age accompanied by a paying adult or parent (e.g. a youth card or school travel card): no charge (up to 2 children).
Tickets cannot be purchased on board the bus; however they can be purchased on board Upptåget trains, by SMS or from a machine. However, not all stations have a machine.
Ticket machines
We offer our customers the option of purchasing single tickets using a machine. At the Quickomat machines at Arlanda terminals 2, 4 and 5, passengers can purchase single tickets for routes 801, 803, 806 and the Upptåget train. However, only credit/debit cards are accepted.
Uppsala: Travel Center, inside the station, tracks 8 and A3, Centralpassagen tunnels East and West.
Tierp: Rail station, 1 machine
Knivsta: Rail station, 1 machine
Storvreta: Upptåget train platform, 1 machine
Arlanda: Terminals 2, 4 and 5 (Quickomat machine)
You have 90 minutes for transfer and you may change buses freely within the same zone. You can even make round trips within the 90-minute period. However, 90-minute transfer and round-trip privileges do not apply for travel to/from Arlanda on the Upptåget train .
SMS tickets for regional transit which are valid for Zone 1 are also valid on Uppsala city buses.
New prepaid booklets were launched January 1, 2010. They contain 10 single tickets, each of which can be used for travel by one person only. Prepaid booklets can only be purchased in whole blocks.
