UL's summer campaign surpasses all expectations

Success for UL's summer campaigns, Linnébussen and Upptåget family tickets to Furuvik. Both campaigns have clearly exceeded all expectations on the part of UL and its partners who collaborated in the two summer campaigns.

Linnébussen
As part of the Linnaeus celebrations in Uppsala in 2007, UL introduced a special bus service called Linnébussen in collaboration with Nordea and Municipality of Uppsala. The bus drove passengers to Linneaus-related sights in and around Uppsala. By August 31, over 8,000 people had traveled Linnébussen. This figure, twice the number expected, is considered a huge success by the partners who collaborated in funding the bus service.

"Now that we have added up the figures for this summer's Linnébussen travel, discussions are already underway about laying the groundwork to be able to offer the service again next summer, " sys UL Marketing Manager Angelique Blix.

Throughout the entire month of September, Linnébussen service will be available to the public Friday-Sunday and Monday-Thursday for school classes. Class trips are made possible thanks to funding from Upplandsstiftelsen, Uppsala County Council and Uppsala municipality.

Family discount on Upptåget to Furuvik
Over 2000 families seized the opportunity to purchase a family ticket for travel on Upptåget to Furuviksparken, which includes a wristband for attractions at the park. This figure is twice what UL and Furuviksparken expected at the start of the season. Some days, there were so many passengers that there was not enough room on Upptåget, so that UL had to add additional bus service.

Family tickets cost SEK 150 and entitled two adults with three children to travel with Upptåget to and from Furuvik and included a wristband for the whole family.

Evaluations are currently underway to decide whether, and if so, how a similar offer might be arranged for next summer.
