Wheelchairs and bus travel
Many UL buses are equipped with ramps or lifts so that passengers in wheelchairs can board. To find out whether the bus you are planning to take is wheelchair accessible, please call UL Customer Service at 0771-14 14 14.
Not all wheelchair models will fit on the bus. In order to find out fur sure whether there is room for your wheelchair, write down the dimensions of your wheelchair and compare them with the compulsory dimensions for public transit found in the table below. The dimensions of your wheelchair can be found the manual but may differ due to various accessories. Ask your prescriber if you are unsure.

Bus ramps have a maximum slope of 12%.
You may not ride the bus with a large electric wheelchair that is classified as an electric moped, snowmobile, ATV etc.
Restraint
Buses with indicated spaces for wheelchairs feature restraint devices. If restraints are available, the wheelchair must be strapped in during the ride.
The bus driver will help you to strap your wheelchair in using the anchor points on the wheelchair. It is important that you know where the anchor points are; if in doubt, ask your prescriber.
Passengers must make use of any belts which are available.
